Well, let's see....
Ahem, *taps the mic* is this thing on?
I never know how to do these things. I'm so not good at selling myself. I'm going to just jump in here and see where this thing goes. I am the eldest of three children. I am my mother's first and was my father's last (I now have a younger sister). I was raised by my grandparents. I think I had a pretty regular childhood, with some exceptions.
I did ballet for a while. I love dance. I was sent to charm school. I was too much of a tomboy for my grandmother's tastes, so she tried to balance me out. I took piano for a year, til my piano teacher died from complications due to HIV/AIDS. He was the first gay man I knew and loved. I miss him still, all these years later.
I went to live with my mother at 15, almost 16. Her dude harassed me. He would come into my room at night and masturbate. He walked around the house in his tighty-whiteys. He drilled holes in walls and doors so he could peek in them. He refused to pay bills, so from 15 til I went to college I lived in a house with no heat or hot water.
There were many days we had no food in the house. I mean, we had to wrap pennies to be able to buy ramen noodles. Even then, we had to share them. Her dude finally got a job working at Burger King and would bring home food from there. For about two years, that's all we ate. I hate Burger King. I get sick at the stomach just driving by one.
I went to Clark Atlanta University. Those were the best four years of my life. I chose an HBCU on purpose. It was what I needed and was the best decision I ever made. I met some of my closest friends there. I don't know what I would do without my girls, Da Divas! I went to seminary in Columbia, South Carolina.
Ummm, what else? My first job was at Krystal's. I hated that damn job, though not as much as I hated working in the mall. I was a debater in high school. I was in the honor society, as well as German honor society. I played sports. In high school, I discovered I was a pretty good writer and a bit of a poet.
What else? Oh, I said I was the eldest of three, but I didn't say what they are...lol. I have a brother (25) and a sister (22). What else? Ummm, I don't know. Oh, well....that's all I can think of. Dang, I'm boring. LOL! Anywho, this is just the tip of the iceberg, so far I'm a bit dull and it
Makes. No. Sense.
